A beautiful red rose
matches the red leaves
of late October.
The redness of a setting sun,
lights flicker on:
jack-o-lanterns glowing smiles,
delighted at the sight
red petals,
a shiny satin;
his love,
now sits beside
Dad’s love—
a faux rose from 2006—
in Nan’s love—
a vase from her collection:
beautiful red roses,
satin sheen,
soft cloth,
match the love and souls
of three beautiful people.


My favorite flower

My favorite flower
Is the cosmos flower

Which blooms
During October
my birthday month

not only because I like the colors
but also because well
it fits my middle name
Cosmos as well

My second favorite flower
is the chrysanthemum
which also blooms
During October
my birthday month

But my favorite flower
of all time
Remains you my dear

as you lit up my life
When you first came
into my life
and became my wife
