Rhyme Time
Prompt: "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go" - Dr. Seuss.
"From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere." - Dr. Suess
Did you read Dr. Suess as a child? Read his books to your children?
What do you think of these quotes by Dr. Suess, is he right or simply writing sentences that rhyme for children?
Dr. Seuss wasn’t on my radar as a child, I was more into Enid Blyton right from a young age and then as I got older the classics like Little Women and Dickens.
But when my children were small Dr. Seuss books were definitely on the book shelf. His rhymes were intended to show children the fun that could be had with words and to encourage the reading of books for enjoyment, compared to the dreadful Dick and Dora books which they and us as parents were made to endure.
