When my best friend died, I thought it was the end of everything. But it was actually the start of a new beginning, with our crime-solving partnership taken to the next level now that one of us could commune with the ghosts of the past. His incorporeality made “two person tasks” in the real world a little more challenging, but it was an acceptable tradeoff. We quickly rose through the ranks of human-ghost working partnerships and were on track to be honored by their professional association at their annual gala next October.
