The outside world was a scary place,
which she hadn’t seen in over a year.
The property line provided her with a safe space,
but also the confines of her imprisonment.

People called her agoraphobic,
said she was too afraid to wander far.
Little did any of them know,
her fear wasn’t entirely irrational.

Terrible things abound in the night,
things that can never be set right.
Zombies and demons and spirits and aliens galore,
the world would soon see them in all their vile splendor.

But there was one thing she had,
a thing she had long and vehemently denied.
It’s that some of the creatures she feared,
had already come inside.
