April 15 Go As A River
Go As A River*

Read last night until
my eyes drooped shut.
You know how it is,
held captive by a good book.

It's now 11:00 AM, still in my PJs,
with tears wet on my cheeks
having just read
the last page.
Breathing the moment.

A coming of age? Yes!
A woman's book, a mother's book.
Book of the earth and its taming.
Go read.
