Original Honey Pit Quotes Poll  [E] Pick your Favorite Quote! Now CLOSED - will be back in FEB 2026  |
| (5.0)  A review from "WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group"  First Impressions: I wasn't sure if I'd ever reviewed a poll before, so I took a little detour and searched my reviews for the word 'poll' and I found about half a dozen. Some of them were a very long time ago when my review was little more than a short 'Great poll!' so I'll try to do a little better this time. I loved the idea of this one. It's a shame you didn't get more quotes for people to choose from. I didn't quite realise that the options were supposed to be original as in, made up by the person who suggested them, and not just their favourite quote. I voted too quickly - the one that caught my eye first and made me laugh was one I had read before online somewhere, and it's not really Halloween related. Unfortunately we can't change our vote after the event (perhaps something for SM's suggestion box because it would come in handy for those of us who don't pay attention  ). So my actual choice is a different one, but it's too late.  Suggestions: I liked the layout of the description. You explained the reason for the poll as well as the way of potentially winning some goodies, and it was all quite easy to follow. It might be worth repeating the rules again as you wrote them in "Inspirational or not So Inspirational Quote Contest" so voters know what the quote was supposed to be. I also spotted a couple of typos: Who are your FAVORITES? I think this was referring to the quotes, so should that say, "Which is your favorite"? Favorite Quotes will will the Originality Merit Badge "will win"?  Final Thoughts: It would be fun to see this activity more often. I forget how much I like polls. They're a quick and easy thing to do, some make you think, some make you laugh, and it's a good idea to offer an incentive for reviewing them. We currently have just over 1,500 polls on WdC and I have taken a fair amount of them, but apparently hardly ever felt the urge to review one. This was a great idea, and I hope you bring it back in February!
