Positives

I really liked the blending of mystery and fantasy elements in this piece. It was a charming read.


Suggestions

In the second paragraph, did you mean to say your grandfather "passed out" or "passed away"? From context clues, I think the implication is that he died, but "passed out" usually just means someone fainted.
