I had to laugh when I read your subject line. We use 'sup' as a greeting here in New Zealand, but I've not heard it overseas and had some funny looks of confusion when I've used it. Where are you from?

When I was doing NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), we did a prep month where we went through a whole bunch of exercises to set up our novels before we ever started writing them. That might be of interest to you. The exercises are here: "October NaNo Prep: 2012 Calendar" Open in new Window.
