A new blog to contain answers to prompts

Since my old blog "Everyday Canvas " Open in new Window. became overfilled, here's a new one. This new blog item will continue answering prompts, the same as the old one.

Elegy to Life

shadow and fire carved *survival
now that the *tooth of time
is wearing a false *crown

like distant dreams in *Kermes red
as within their mask, a *tumor coils
while I measure *leak and loss

then, in *reflection, I judge my fate
for the hourglass glares *clear,
and a *blank chronicle writes itself
