Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
Well, nothing bad has happened...so much for my intuition. It is still very cold here, 19 degrees this morning. I never sleep with the heat on but I got up at 6:15 this morning and turned it on, then I could not go back to sleep. As soon as it warmed up some, I was up with Mopsy for company. Water in the birdbaths is frozen but the sun is trying to thaw things out. This is unusual weather for Florida, even North Florida, before winter has officially arrived. I wonder what January will be like? Some strawberry farms have lost their complete crops and citrus is at risk also, this in the Tampa, Plant City areas, more Central Florida. I always look forward to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City around the end of February...hope some survive to have it. Mentioning February made me think of the Hoggetown Medieval Faire held here around the first of February. It is a real delight to attend...seeing things as they were in medieval times (King Arthur's day)...jousting, soap making, magic acts, non-electrical rides for kids (imagine that), and the strangest thing, food vendors selling huge turkey drumsticks. I cannot handle that but it is very interesting to watch others eating them. And then there are the singing wenches...can't wait. The Gators have a new coach-in-waiting, Will Muschamp, from Texas. At 2.7 million per year, he will be earning triple his current salary but much less than Urban Meyer's 4 million. Isn't that sad... ![]() I read we will have a total lunar eclipse on December 21st, beginning at 1:30 A.M. and ending around 5 A.M. This one will be worth getting up for. Because of the earth's atmosphere, the moon will turn bright orange or blood red with a possible flash of turquoise ![]() Well, I'm going outside to try and thaw some water for the birdies...they are begging... until next time....c |
