This and that...

I did not make it to the book sale today. Jim had some problems and needed me home. I read in our local paper over 800 people were waiting outside when the sale opened Saturday morning. Now I know why I never go on the first day!

I did get some more raking done. The pine needles are falling like snow. They look so pretty and smell so good all raked up around the base of the trees like a candle in a candle holder. The squirrels are leaving stripped pinecones everywhere...wonder where they are hiding all those nuts We are in dire need of rain. The birdbaths have to be replenished daily. Even the dove are brave enough to hang out around the feeders and the baths.

I just wonder what happened to all our donations to Haiti that they still do not have clean water to drink. The cholera has spread to Port Au Prince according to the news tonight. Corruption seems to be everywhere. How could a human being withhold money meant to save lives. Why is there no clean water or sanitation improvement since last January? I guess everyone here in the U.S. of A. is too busy trying to get their pals elected to bother with trying to find out why people are dying of cholera in Haiti nine months after the earthquake. We ladies can make a whole new person in that amount of time! Undoubtedly, we will see more news of Haiti after next Tuesday.......c
